Kids and Family Yoga

Stretch, Strengthen, and Svasana with the Whole Family!

Kids yoga is a fun and interactive way to build strength and release excess energy. Kids yoga also helps to develop a healthy body and body image. Kids tend to lead intense lifestyles due to over-stimulation, academic and social pressures, blended families and busy schedules. All of these create stress that can be hard for them to identify and clearly communicate. Our kids yoga practices provide tools that children and families can use to alleviate stress and find calm and balance in a safe, non-competitive environment. We encourage kids to explore and develop their minds and bodies. We also learn and practice traditional yoga poses, breathing exercises, meditations, group activities, and guided relaxation. All kids yoga classes move from warm-up to active play, then through mindfulness exercises and closing relaxation.

Ages 4-7

We introduce traditional yoga poses through age appropriate creative movement. We begin focusing on building strength, balance, core development and spatial body awareness. Through activities and games, we foster group participation. As a result, this helps to relieve excess energy. Meanwhile, concentration and relaxation techniques are introduced to calm the mind and body.

Ages 8 - 13

We build a community environment in this class. To begin, we give students space to learn about being present with themselves and others. Building strength, maintaining flexibility and developing balance and body awareness is a strong focus. Kids practice mindfulness and concentration through group sharing and meditation. Breathing and relaxation techniques also are introduced for self-soothing and reducing stress.

Yoga for Teens

We introduce proper posture alignment and basic yoga philosophy in this class. Especially designed for students ages 13-18, we begin by bringing awareness to being present in our mind and body. This helps us to develop more effectively strength, balance, and flexibility. Various breathing techniques also are learned for calm and focus. This class is great for beginners. During this class, we move through basic vinyasa (flow) with added restorative postures.

Kids Summer Camps

Our summer yoga camps are offered at various locations around town. These camps are a way for kids to find their inner and outer strength. All while being creative, expressing themselves and bonding with friends. We teach considerate peer interaction and leadership skills using games and activities. Each day of camp include a yoga class and mindfulness practices. We also have daily group activity time, creative projects, visualization exercises, and relaxation. Yoga Programs at Schools

By bringing our programs into schools and other educational sites, we share the benefits of yoga with children in a familiar setting. Our classes in schools are customized to meet the needs of the students. We will work alongside your school's administration to find available space to offer yoga as an enrichment program or an after school extended-day activity. Our programs are available for all ages, from preschool to high school. Yoga Parties are a great way to celebrate a milestone such as a birthday, graduation, sports teams, girls scouts and more! Our parties keep everyone engaged in the same activity starting with yoga and ending with games, refreshments, gifts and more. We can also do specialized parties, Glow in the Dark, Spa, and Super U themes!
